Delivery low-code projects: KPMG & Tabidoo

At KPMG, I manage the BPM team and delivery projects on low-Code platforms. We visited DigiFest with my colleague Martin Konir, Head of Architecture at KPMG. Our goal was to bring practical experience from low-code projects to the festival visitors and to highlight what we find crucial for success from our experience so far. Although we are enthusiastically trying to spread low-code to the world, not only in the Czech environment, it is important to acknowledge that you can’t really do everything in low-code and to eliminate even the reputational risk in case of failure right from the start. The great thing about the low-code solution is that the client can manage it on their own, with absolutely minimal IT support, however, this just carries risks of misuse, especially in the case of poor handover and lack of thorough training or lack of post go live client care.

We must prepare in advance for the speed with which low-code solutions can be implemented by all stakeholders, i.e. not only the client and its environment, but all its IT suppliers. Therefore, the Solution Architecture must be given extra attention from the beginning, with all the integrations, to ensure the right data flow. Only then are we able to manage the fast pace of such a project right from the start and benefit from low-code solutions. Of course, we may find that it is an isolated agenda, but even there it needs to be project-managed, even if it is a micro-project, from analysis to delivery. Low-code is often compared to the Lego pieces that we use to build our project. The great thing is that we can gradually expand, build on existing agendas and applications, add modules such as OCR or the use of AI, but the foundations still need to be solid enough that the whole kit doesn’t fall apart.

At the end of our lecture, we exchanged experiences and insights from our projects with the audience and we hope that we have inspired them on this, still pioneering, journey in the world of low-code.

Digitisation increasing the chance of a second life for second-hand items: the ReUse Centre & Tabidoo

Although cloud solutions are emerging like mushrooms after rain, it is not true that they are all immediately applicable, especially in the enterprise sphere. On-premise solutions, whose development often began before the advent of the Internet, are still the mainstay; users are literally intimate with them, which is not incomprehensible. This post is about how Tabidoo is a good fit for these solutions as well. One of the possible ways of using Tabidoo in combination with on-premise running software was presented at Digifest 2023 by Mr. Miroslav Jakuš, Research and Innovation Director of INISOFT Ltd.

The story of INISOFT s.r.o. started 30 years ago and today its on-premise solutions are used by almost 5,000 customers and more than 20,000 users. Although the company has developed its own and custom-delivered cloud solutions in the past, it has achieved its greatest success by delivering its own information system, ENVITA, which is most often hosted in its user’s infrastructure. What INISOFT s.r.o. has had to address recently is the accessibility of the ENVITA IS from different platforms. Customer pressure led it to find a suitable and quick solution to improve access to the on-premise platform. Mr. Jakuš presented us with an example of the brand new ENVITA ReUse module, how they used Tabidoo to make the required improvements, how this solution works and what INISOFT Ltd. intends to do with Tabidoo in the future. Jan Cuřín and Martin Čmejrek from Mama AI brought you the answers in their talk, where they introduced the world of automatically generating answers from different types of datasets, including structured and unstructured ones. Within the Tabidoo platform, they showed how to learn, for example, how many people survived the sinking of the Titanic and whether there is any connection between the survivors and the class they were travelling in.
